The Wellness Training Practice offers bespoke consultancy and CPD accredited courses designed to meet the needs of your organisation led by Psychiatrist – Dr Kiran Nijabat.

Dr Nijabat and the training team have developed a unique series of Continuing professional development (CPD) accredited courses that promote and develop an understanding of  mental wellness within schools, colleges, nurseries, care settings and businesses.

All our courses are accredited by CPD certification service as conforming to universally accepted continuous professional development guidelines. We can combine aspects of courses to deliver a bespoke, tailor made course to meet the needs of your staff and organisation.

Ruth Bone

HEAD OF TRAINING, BA(Hons) MSc MBPsS

Ruth has over 20 years’ experience working in education and mental health.  She graduated from the University of Sussex and has worked in private and public education and mental health services.  Ruth is a trained advocate and represents adults and young people in tribunals, managers’ hearings and when facing discrimination.  She has completed training in Educational Therapy and has devised and delivered programmes for children with special educational needs and supported their families and carers. Ruth has a strong track record of maximising inclusion and improving outcomes and is passionate about empowering children and young people.

 

 

 

Henrietta Szovati

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COACH, CPCC Writer and Life Strategist

Henrietta started her career in the corporate world where she trained as a consultant on international affairs. After working in the field of project consultancy she re-trained as a coach and has been at the forefront of personal development and human consciousness since 2003. She trained with the world renowned Coaches Training Institute and a graduate of their famous leadership programme.

She believes that “While we are intellectually brilliant, spiritually imaginative and physically resourceful, we fail to bring heart awareness into our work and relationships leaving us disconnected”. Henrietta is one of the few coaches who expanded her rigorous training with a specialization in neuroscience and runs her workshops teaching about the brain and the heart connection. Her work leads to deep, sustainable and transformative change both on personal and organizational level.

She calls for new ways to see, think, connect and lead on personal and is the author of “Heartsmart- One woman’s Journey from her Head to her Heart”. her blogs can be found at www.beheartsmart.me

We offer a range of courses to support mental wellness in schools, designed specifically for education professionals. Our trainers are experts in the field of mental wellness in schools and highly experienced in delivering continuing professional development. Courses take place at our London training office and we can provide onsite school training. These include:

Mental Wellness in Children and Young People – New online course

 

Length of time needed for completion – 6 – 8 hours

Entry Level – this course is perfect for those who work with children and young people on a daily basis including teachers, management staff, learning support staff and administrative staff in schools and colleges.

Aims and Objectives:

This course will enable teachers and professionals working with children and young people to:

  • Identify common mental health problems in young people using video role plays featuring real teachers and psychiatrists.
  • Understand depression, self harm, anxiety, eating disorders and suicidal in young people.
  • Management of mental health problems.
  • Building resilience and mental wellness in children and young people using a whole school approach.

Mental Wellness Workshop for Doctors – New course

A new wellness course delivered by Dr Nijabat and Leadership Coach Henrietta Szovati.

Can be offered as a 3 hour (half day) or 6 hour (full day) course

Self-Harm and Suicide

3 hour course

  • What is self-harm?
  • Why is self-harm caused?
  • What is suicide? Key facts on suicidal behaviour in young people
  • How to identify suicidal students and interact with them
  • Assess and manage suicidal risk in young people, mental health first aid
  • Toolkit for the classroom-useful guidelines and policies to use with young people after a self-harm or suicide attempt.

Building Resilience

3 hour Course

  • What is resilience?
  • Introduction to developing young people’s resilience
  • What is Academic resilience?
  • What is Staff resilience in schools?
  • How bullying affects mental health-self harm
  • Practicing Mindfulness, Mental health first Aid and other strategies to improve resilience in vulnerable young people

Neurodevelopmental Disorders Workshop

3 hour Course

  • What is Autistic Spectrum Disorder? (ASD)
  • How to spot Signs and symptoms of ASD in school aged children
  • Multidisciplinary management of ASD
  • Key strategies teachers can use to manage ASD
  • What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ? (ADHD)
  • How to spot signs and symptoms of ADHD in school ages children
  • Multidisciplinary management of ADHD

Eating disorders

3 hour course

  • What are eating disorders?
  • Definition of anorexia and bulimia, binge eating
  • How to spot signs and symptoms of eating disorders
  • How to respond effectively and manage appropriately
